HOW DOES GIANT SCREEN DIGITAL SIGNAGE WORK?

By definition, digital signage is a mass communication technology that conveys information through multimedia images. These solutions may be found in a variety of settings. The most frequent is advertising on a large screen, but there are also communication displays in storefronts and businesses.

It is a compelling method for increasing visibility, especially on a giant screen where you can be seen from afar and by many people simultaneously. Yet, we can inquire as to how it operates. There is no one answer, and it depends on the treatment type employed. Yet, on large displays, this often follows the same trend.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE

When we look at the user side, he first interacts with the screen control program. There are several options, some of which are free, some need payment, and others are directly incorporated with the massive SMD screens. Some will only serve as playlist managers with broadcast scheduling capabilities.

Others will be more comprehensive and allow you to build little animations directly. It is, however, vital to distinguish between piloting software and editing software. It is the first to transmit the items displayed on the screen.

A LINKING SOLUTION

Many choices are available based on the placement of the screen, as explained in our post on controlling displays. A cable or Wi-Fi connection is feasible if the large screen is closed. This is determined by whether or not a communication wire may be connected to the display.

The wired option is ideal for eliminating communication issues as much as feasible. GSM connectivity (through the mobile network) is employed for a remote screen due to the inclusion of a Sim card. The network quality will subsequently determine the connection speed at the screen’s location.

A SEPARATE ORDERING TOOL

We subsequently reach the screen level where various components are engaged. The first will perform the function of screen memory. He will be the one to receive and save the playlists. He will also encrypt them before broadcasting them on the TV. This instrument can take many different shapes.

In general, we employ what is known as a Player. Nevertheless, in specific configurations, a computer is linked to the screen and managed remotely. In certain circumstances, although rarely on a giant LED panel, we utilize a USB key formatted in a specific way so that the screen continually broadcasts what is on it.

It should be noted that there are hybrid solutions available online. They feature both a programming solution and a backup cloud. These services are often subscription-based and allow you to lighten a technological component. They do, however, need an internet connection and the installation of a compatible receiver.

THE BROADCASTING AND LARGE-SCREEN SOLUTION

Then there’s the screen, whose job is to display whatever is supplied. This is made feasible on a massive LED screen by a “receiving card” that receives the encoded data and thereby manages the lighting of the LEDs based on the items to be broadcast. As a result, it will display many forms of media, including video, photos, text, and animations.

Although a screen power supply may appear straightforward, a screen needs electricity to function. Currently, the only solution is to connect to the public electrical network. In the coming years, we may see solutions based on photovoltaic operations.

A vast screen requires 230V and an intensity of 4 amps per square meter, or 24A for a 6m2 screen.

IN A NUTSHELL, HOW DOES A LARGE SCREEN WORK?

Generally, a large screen operates similarly to any other broadcasting instrument. A media player is required for a digital signage system, much as a television requires a box or a decoder. The primary distinction is that it is a user-managed closed loop. He is, after all, the one who determines and starts what is transmitted.

It is not, however, his responsibility to decide on each of these factors. It is usually the seller of dynamic display solutions who will point him in the direction of such and such a tool. They can select alternative pieces, particularly for the programming software component, as long as this one is compatible.
